| The Occidental Allegro Resort is situated on the east side of the island
in the resort district approximately 20 minutes from downtown Cozumel Mexico.
The resort features 2 pools, 1 hot tub, 2 normal restaurants and 1 all you
can eat buffet. There are multiple bars providing easy access to drinks. The
food at the buffets (2) is decent, but not as good as others. The two restaurants
which you must make reservations for have significantly better food, though
you can only visit them twice during your stay. The beach is well situated
for relaxing, waiters come to take your order for drinks, and towels and lawn
chairs are provided. There is fair snorkeling for the beginner just off from
the beach, venture out far enough and you will discover schools of fish and
more interesting items. You can use snorkel gear free from the Allegro's dive
shop. There are tennis courts available, as well as a basketball court, chess
area and shuffle board. Nightly shows are performed outside on the main stage,
these shows are for the most part amusing and worth attending. Rooms are not
traditional like many resorts, but are separated out in to multiple buildings,
with a thatched roof, this makes for less cramped stay, you will likely not
wake up to looking at your neighbors coming out of their rooms with this design.
As Cozumel is an island many of the resorts do have a problem with waist,
we encountered a smell at the entry way of the hotel, but found it to be present
in the large resort. |
